We were delighted to be invited to talk at the My Futures Unlimited event at Miltoncross Academy on the 8th & 9th June, alongside a group of inspiring local business owners and representatives.
My Futures Unlimited run a series of workshops, providing advice and guidance to inspire and motivate both students and adults to fulfil their potential. My Futures Unlimited passionately believe that everyone should be helped to develop high aspirations and consider a broad and ambitious range of careers.
By setting high expectations and providing quality advice and career guidance, participants in the workshops are motivated to succeed.
Not wanting to focus on just the corporate, commercial and public sectors, My Futures Unlimited provide insight into a wide range of career options including the creative arts, sole traders and entrepreneurs. Including us.
The event consisted of 5 back-to-back 30 minute sessions, each with a group of 20 students. The students moved between classrooms, and were able to listen to the motivating presentations of the various talkers.
It was a great pleasure for us to share how Design Aesthetic came about, and let the students know that you don’t have to know exactly what you want to do for the rest of your life when you leave school, and that it is ok to change your career path later on in life if you find something that suits you better.
We really enjoyed being a part of the Insight to Industry & Career Options day, and we hope that our presentation sparked a lightbulb moment for some of the students. Thanks to My Futures Unlimited for inviting us along. If you are interested in their workshops, check out their website here.
